The Servant of God Maria Esperanza: Mystic for Our Times

On the feast of the Queenship of Mary, August 22, 1954, a young Venezuelan woman named Maria Esperanza invited some friends to pray the Rosary at her home in Caracas. She was nearly twenty-six at the time, single, working and living in Caracas with her mother.

Novena to St. Cecilia: November 13th-21st

We begin the Novena to Saint Cecilia, patron Saint of music and one of the most famous Roman martyrs. It is said that she became the patroness of musicians after singing heartily to God at her wedding because she didn’t want to get married.

Novena to St. Margaret Mary Alacoque: October 7th-15th

Jesus chose to reveal His Sacred Heart to St. Margaret Mary Alacoque in 1674. After having a difficult home life and struggling with her health, St. Margaret Mary knew what it meant to suffer. She was able to receive consolation and hope when she turned to the Sacred Heart.

Novena in Honor of the Queenship of Mary: August 13th-21st

When you think of Our Lady, what do you think of? Maybe you think of her as mother and turn to her in prayer and in times of distress. Maybe you think of her as a guide and pray a rosary for clarity. Along with those great things, it’s essential we don’t forget that she is Queen as well. The Church honor’s Our Lady’s Queenship every year on August 22nd.
